Step 4 - the 3D architectural scene

Now the virtual reality magic begins. The shell of the 3D architectural model is colored, textured, landscaped and furnished. Creating 3D scenes is a complicated process that involves the simulation of real world surfaces and lighting.

The extent of the 3D scene process includes:

  • Applying surfaces and textures to all architectural construction elements;
  • Inserting detailed furniture and interior design features;
  • Inserting all landscaping, trees and shrubs included;
  • Lighting the 3D scene;
  • Determining the camera angles for still artwork and architectural renderings.

Each of these steps requires a solid technical background and an artistic touch.

This is the stage where you, from a client's point of view, will see the most happening. Architectural artwork takes shape and you are issued with high quality proof images.

A 3D wireframe view prioer to shading or rendering A 3D wireframe scene is created. This can be likened to a building made from matchsticks. All faces and structural elements are in place but no materials, colors or lighting. The solid architecture of the building is complete.
A shaded view proper to lighting and rendering Then we apply colors and textures to the surfaces, such as floor coverings, fabrics to the sofas, etc. This still doesn't look like artwork but it's taking shape. We can still move objects around and make any alteration needed during this process.
A final 3D rendered view The scene is then lit and rendered. This process takes a lot of computer time but the results are lifelike.

FAQ:

Question

Answer

Can I make structural changes during this process?

Yes, you can. Our streamlined workflow allows alterations to be made in the structural model and be reflected in the 3D scene almost immediately. You may be charged for alterations, depending on the type of alteration.

Can I use the proof images for my advertising? Certainly. We can fast track your advertising campaign by issuing high-resolution images within hours of you approving a proof.

How many proof images will I get?

Plenty. Usually about 10 per apartment and 2-4 per exterior scene. We don't skimp on proof images or final rendered stills.

Can I make changes to the camera angles?

Yes.

How will I receive the proofs?

Email. We no longer send hardcopy proofs.

3D Rendering

Since the early 1990s Archiform 3D has been creating amazing 3D renderings or architectural projects. Your ideas are translated in 3D to create Photo-Perfect 3D images. Our 3D renderings are an aid to designers, property developers, advertising consultants and realtors. Our 3D renderings form the backbone of many pre-construction and pre-production sales campaigns.
