Step 5 - animating the architectural scene

Photo-Perfect™ architectural still images (renderings) can also make incredible life-like animated motion footage. Animating the 3D architectural scene can be likened to going through a real life scene with a video camera. The process is almost identical. You would often refer to these animations as fly-by, fly-through or walk-through animations.

We create a 3D architectural fly-through camera path that shows the scene at it's best, determining when the camera should pause, slow down or look around. Once the fly-through animation path is set up we need to process the animation, which takes time. Because we only render our interior architectural animations as Photo-Perfect we require many computers to process the final result. It can take days to render, or sometimes over a week!

It's important, for timing reasons, that you ensure your proofs and still images (architectural renderings) are perfect before we begin the process of rendering an animation.

You will notice there are a few different ways to animate a 3D architectural scene. We like to "meander", taking a natural approach to how a buyer would visualize a new development if they were there and could achieve the 3D camera angles we are capable of. We pause, move, look around and take our time. We also ensure that each 3D view is attractive, emotive and inspiring.

Question

Answer

Can I make structural changes to the architectural 3D model during this process?

Yes, you can, but if these are done after the final fly-through animated rendering process you will lose time and we will charge you extra. It is best to get the architecture represented as best as possible early in the process. We do, however,. stress that fussing over small structural details that will not affect the buyers perception will in effect keep the project off the market while the changes are made, so you need to draw a line as to when you commit to the market. We all know that you may actually make changes for months and throughout construction.

Can I use the animated video images for my TV advertising? Yes, we render to broadcast quality and will gladly give any other video production company the footage for use in a TV advertisement or video production. Keep in mind that we also produce TV commercials. Please respect that if our footage is used as a corporate message, a testimonial, a showreel or demo that it must contain full credits to us as a watermark image. We can provide our logo for this.

How many 3D animations will I get?

This depends on the scene. We don't skimp on the amount of finished footage you get and don't charge by the second or minute.

Can I make changes to the camera path?

Yes. If you like we can prepare small draft movies showing you the path we suggest and you may make changes to it.

How will I receive the 3D animations?

Fly-through animations need to be processed in one of many ways before you can view them properly. The next stage will explain this to you.
